Small boat, high speed

Enjoying competitive rowing is great but the boats are rather big and therefore hard to transport partly due to the space that is required for the moveable seat. The Sliding Rigger concept is an innovative aproach that enables much smaller boats: The Volans² is not much larger than a canoo but retains the action and feel of a slender competition boat.

Is it possible to offer the action and feel of a competition boat in a much smaller vessel?

The  Volans² was developped by Volans Rowing in a development team involving Reframing Studio and DSM, Technical University Delft, Infinious, Concept 2, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, KNRB, Tahe Marine (Estland), InnoSportNL, DIDID, Rovinox.
