Femke works at Reframing Studio since 2007. As a design strategist she helps firms and organisations with questions of ‘what and why’, both immediately and over the long term. She is passionate about understanding human behaviour and translating insights into compelling new opportunities and concepts.
In her current position she is responsible for Redesigning Psychiatry, an ambitious project with 10 healthcare organisations focussed on redesigning the complete Dutch mental health care sector for 2030. Next to that she works on designing new mobility concepts for the city of Amsterdam and and a future vision on the way the government deals with information for the ministry of Education, Culture and Science.

Femke holds a master’s degree with honors in Design for Interaction from Delft University of Technology, faculty of Industrial Design. In her master thesis, carried out at Philips Design, she designed a possible future for patient rooms in hospitals, based on the experience of serious illness. Next to designing at Reframing Studio she also coaches design students in the basic principles of the reframing method.
